Expanding access to Evidence-based intervention for autism

Thursday, August 28, 2015

9:00am – 12:00pm

Consultation

For Community partners  (closed)

With Connie Kasari University of California, Los Angeles

Our previous international consultation has highlighted significant barriers to the implementation and scalability of evidence based approaches in many communities, especially models emerging in the last decade. A recent report by INSESS (Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux) shows that the range of intervention approaches utilized in Quebec remains limited and suggests a disconnect form up to date research. Our local findings confirm that and many families currently do not have access to timely support, specialized or otherwise, which is at odds with Quebec’s vision for advanced, family-centred, and coordinated care for this population. The consultation will support exchange among leading researchers and service providers in our local community towards achieving this long term vision.
